My deepest sympathy goes out to the family and friends of Kristen. She was a wonderful friend and I will miss her dearly. A donation has been given in memory of Kristen to Mass Audubon, and I promise to keep her alive in my heart always. Kristen, I am so very proud of you. xoxo With Love, Rose Domingo-Horne and family (Barry, Ashleigh, Kilian, and Maggie Horne)

I was lucky to have Dr. Upchurch as a teacher during my intern year of psychiatry residency. I was touched by her kindness, passion for teaching, and her positive energy. I only wish I had more opportunities to work and learn from her. She will be sincerely missed.

May i send my deepest condolences to the whole family. I had the privilege of knowing and working with Kristen - she was my senior resident in neurology when i started residency. She is a wonderful, kind, and beautiful person, and I looked up to her and learned so much from her. She reminds everyone to live life to its fullest and to always give 100% to everything we do. Rest in Peace, Kristen. Miss you.

My condolences to the Upchurch family... I have always admired Kristen for her kindness, compassion, intelligence, innate strength, and zest for life. She was my senior resident and her many stories and rites of passage inspired me time and time again.

I was blessed to know Kristen as a wonderfully passionate student of neurology. A caring, wonderful person and doctor has been lost to us way too soon.

I knew Kristen well during her time in the Department of Neurosurgery at UCLA, where I was one of her professors. She is remembered as supremely passionate and dedicated. A brilliant mind snuffed out yoo soon. Very sad news.

Dr. Upchurch was my dad's neurologist at the VA in Brockton. My dad had Alzheimer's and passed away in July. I just received a call from the VA regarding an appointment and learned of her passing. I am saddened, stunned and heartbroken. Dr. Upchurch was TRULY a bright light in my struggle to keep my dad vibrant and healthy for as long as I could. Her compassion for my dad, as well as for me, was unequaled and I know her loss will be felt within her field and the VA healthcare system. My heart goes out with profound sadness to her patients and their families, people lucky enough to be counted as her friends, but especially to those blessed to call her family. She was an amazing doctor and a warm and kind advocate. I'm sure the contributions she made to this world, in more than just her medical field, will carry on along with her memory - but the world also go a little less brighter with her passing.
