Joe was one of the first people I met at the BRA in the 1970's. He helped me to navigate the various departments at the City Hall and was always upbeat and helpful. He never missed a day at Arch Street at lunch time and he helped keep Brooks Brothers in business. He will be missed but never forgotten.

I had the pleasure of working with Joe at the BRA for many years and he was a true gentleman, professional in his position and part of a generation that truly made this country. Joe would always assist you if you didn't understand a concept and carefully explain what needed to be accomplished. We will keep you in our prayers. Michael Kearney

I too had the pleasure of working with Joe at the BRA. A true gentleman, a great co-worker and friend. We will miss his laughter! Thank you Joe for your service to our country and the citizens of Boston. Dennis Callahan

Joe, a Man among Great Men. Truly timeless and selfless. Throughout his career at the Boston Redevelopment Authority, Joe did not have to be asked to help groom the young and new urban planner in the culture of the Authority. Joe was also a good friend. He loved reading and was eager to share good books and anecdotes from the books we read. Joe was a great baseball fan, but we liked different teams. He "spoiled" my son and made him love baseball by buying him Red Sox hats and memorabilia. God Bless You Joe! We will hopefully meet again and share great memories. Your Friend, Hugues

Joe was a great man, a gentleman, a veteran who served in Italy during World War II, a great public servant who served the city of Boston for decades, an ardent reader, and a proud son of Mission Hill. He was wise, funny, helpful, and devout. He was much loved and will be much missed.

I knew Joe from riding the 38 Wren Street bus. Joe was one of the nicest and kindest people I have ever met. I know he will Rest In Peace.

Joseph, you will be missed! How I remember all the books we shared, the rides on the T and of course your kindness. I can clearly remember your disappointment that my son Andrew was born a day too early to be a St Josephs day baby!! You forgave me but I could tell you were disappointed. You were the consummate professional, always able to come up with the full file for each zoning case you meticulously processed. The BRA was so fortunate to have you all those years. Rest in peace .

I have the fondest memories of my Friend Joe working at the BRA. His laugh was contagious and we would chat on our morning walk for coffee. I am terribly saddened to hear of his passing. My nickname for him was Fred and I was sunshine. Great loss, but I know he had a long and memorable life. I will always have fond memories of you Joe. Your friend, Sheila.

We knew Joe as a long time and devoted supporter to the missionary work of the Catholic Church through The Society for the Propagation of the Faith. We pray that the angels have led him to Paradise. Thanks for your years of help, Joe!
