Jake was so unique, a really special guy.He let me play his drums and hang out with the band when I was a little kid. I'll never forget Jake. An inspirational artist and personality like no other. Rest in peace brother.

My friend Jake we had quite a ride in those early years at the Gavin and Southie High. I still bust a gut with laughter thinking about all the things we did. I could write a screenplay and people would not believe it. Jake you were truly a one of kind guy and friend. RIP - but bang the drums loudly when I get there! Love ya brother.

I knew Jake through my old brother Jimmy. He was always such a nice person, always happy and smiling. The world needs more genine people like Jake. I'm sorry that I can't make his wake but please know that prayers are being said for him and his family. Heaven just became a better place filled with more beautiful music!

Jake, you were a fixture of life during my children’s early days, when Mitch was still here. After Mitch got sick, we would often be surprised and delighted to find you chatting and drawing memorable pictures with him, in a sunny corner of our kitchen. Life flies by so quickly, and there is rarely time or opportunity to take note of or express thanks for the small moments of meaning that are given to us by our friends. I want to take a moment now. And I want to let you know that a half-dozen of the drawings you left behind for us to treasure now adorn the wall of my daughter’s home in Chicago. My sincere condolences to Nancy and to the members of your family for whom no words can capture the great sadness of your loss. God bless you all, and Godspeed to you, Jake. You had soul, man !!
