Patricia will be greatly missed by all the Murrays. She was one of my dad sisters, Margaret (Murray) Holland daughters. Patricia had a gold of gold and was the one of the best story tellers to all of us younger than her at Ma Murrays Clarkson Street triple decker or down in my father’s small Cape Cod house - Lawton Road. Her smile and personality lifted everyone up around her and we all looked forward to our family get togethers. To my Holland cousins and the Tonra families - our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Bob Murray

Dear Melissa and Emily, Your mother was the greatest Aunt and Godmother! For many years, Karen and I were the only “nieces”. Every time we saw your mother, she would tell us how beautiful and smart we were. We knew she exaggerated, but still, we loved every moment of it! She had this way of making us feel like we were the center of the world when we came in a room!!! When we were young, my DREAM was to be a teacher someday. One weekend we stayed with your parents, and she was “moving schools”. She had all the kids workbooks, teacher’s editions to the reading books, AND tons of worksheets that had not been filled out. Your mom let me take them home. It was a DREAM COME TRUE!!! I would stand in our basement for hours playing school, doing all the worksheets, making sure to make errors so I could mark them incorrect! I felt so privileged to be privy to what the teachers saw in their books. Sometimes I wonder if that’s why elementary school came easy ... I don’t know why this sticks in my mind, but I remember her telling us that if she ever stopped at McDonald’s for a meal, she made sure to order an extra fry for the way home - I always thought that was GENIUS!!! She had the most wholehearted laugh, and when she laughed you couldn’t help but laugh too!!! I like to think that’s where Karen and I refer to “bouncing” when we laugh!!! Your mom always did!!! She was the best story teller - you would sit listening, almost hoping the story wouldn’t end, because she would tell it so well!!! When I was graduating from high school, I had decided to move in with friends, and have a summer of fun. It was totally selfish and wrong. Imagine my surprise when I got a card in the mail from your parents, your mom sent me a card (and of course a gift) and wrote to me, that she was proud of me, and loved me, and if I ever needed anything to call her!!! I don’t think anyone else dared ask my address, but your mom did!!! I never forgot that nor should I. She was the perfect amount of fun and reason , had very smart insight, yet willing to accept whatever we said as “Golden”. She gave Karen and I the only opportunity of being flower girls. We loved it - but couldn’t have my mom had gotten us better haircuts Melissa and Emily, you both were her life!!! She was so PROUD OF YOU BOTH!!! And then her grandchildren!!! She raised 2 very smart and beautiful women!!! When I hear stories of her younger days, I believe she was woman before her time - full of vim and vigor, and stood her ground!!! That’s the woman I will remember!!! And so proud of it!!! I may be far away, but my heart is with both of your families!!! Trust me, not only will she live through both of you, but throughout all her family!!! Love, “Krissie”

To The Tonra Family, So sorry for the loss Pat. My mother and I had the pleasure of bowling with her on Friday nights and she enjoyed it very much and we enjoyed her company. Colleen & Colette Burke
