Dee was probably the most dedicated, brilliant, giving person I’ve ever had the pleasure to work (and play!) with. Always humble, she was also formidable-prepared for calmly solving any problem. She was the best person to run the chaos known as the FJC in its tough formative years, and if you had her on your side, you had solid steel at your gates! Oh, what a tremendous loss to the court, and Boston! I’m so sad to hear of her passing, but I’m comfortable knowing that she had a first-class ticket to heaven, for all the selfless good she did on this earth. God bless her family at this sad time.

Dear Maura, Bill and to the entire Kennedy clan, we are so very sorry for such an enormous loss. While I did not have the honor of knowing your sister, it clearly sounds as though she was a force of great magnitude, making a wonderful difference in the world. May your faith and love of family and friends sustain you all through your loss. Andrew and Margaret Hern and Family

I had the privalege of working for Dee for the last two and a half years. In addition to being the hardest working person in the courthouse - she was kind, understanding, caring, and stern when she had to be. Dee was one of a kind and will be missed by so many. My heartfelt condolences to Chief Kennedys family, friends, and Dorchester Court family. - Anthony DiGangi

My mom shared the news about Dee. I went to the Randall G with her and Fr Bill and Ursuline with Kathleen. I am sorry for your family’s loss. I read that Dee lived her life for others and trust that God will reward His good and faithful servant. God bless. Years go by but friendships remain. I have such fond memories of elementary school and the Kennedy twins. Praying for you all.

Dear Kennedy Family, I was so saddened to hear about Dee's passing. My heart goes out to you all. What touching tributes in the Boston Globe. Such an impressive career devoted to helping others! I was a classmate at GLS/BLA and in elementary school at the Randall G. Morris. I remember her being a “fierce” little jump-roper in a bright pink dress in the school yard. 59 was too young for the game to end. RIP, Deirdre. I can still see that smiling eight-year-old face! With heartfelt sympathy, Margie (Hazerjian) Markarian
