I knew Gerry (Big Gil) well - a West Roxbury staple. A great guy, a generous, intelligent guy and family man. Always admired his insight and conversation. His sudden passing was a shock. He’ll be missed. May he and brother Larry Rest In Peace.

So sad to learn of Gerry’s passing! I was a boyhood friend in the 50’s of Larry and Gerry (little Gil and big Gil), closer to Larry because we were the same age. I lived on Vermont St, several houses up from them. I knew their parents. My house backed on the tarred schoolyard where we played tag football and baseball after school. In the winter, we played hockey down below on the “swamp” at the end of the street. All of us kids were always laughing then. The Gillis brothers were the funniest. I remember them like I saw them yesterday. My last contact with either of them was around 1960. I wish I had done more to find them since then, so many fond memories! Heartfelt condolences to the Gillis family and friends. Patrick Parrelli Atlanta, Georgia
