Dear David, You left this world so soon and unexpectedly. I wish we had more time together you were truly a good family friend. The past few years were rough for you to get around. I’m glad we got to share a play together. I know you are in heaven with your mom, dad and aunt. May you Rest In Peace! Sophia

To Patty and the rest of the family, We were all so fortunate to have met David and spend time with him. He left us with great memories of smiles and laughter and always with the love for all he had in his heart. He was a giant among men, a bright star that burned for too short a time and we are all the less for his departure, but we are also so filled with the joy that he inspired with his contagious spirit. We are all better for having known and loved him. REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND AND HOPE YOU ARE HAVING WONDERFUL CONVERSATIONS WITH THE JOLLY CORKS!!!

David has such a sweet, devilish, and funny soul. I feel like I've know him and the Vernons all my life. My heart is broken and I grieve with you. God bless you. With love, Angie Green

Oh David, I can’t believe that you are gone. You were larger than life in every way. Now, who is going to lecture me ( whether I like it or not) about religion, history, art, theater, literature, the Elks, and the origin of every saying. Who is going to mock insult my son until he and I are limp with laughter? Who is going to attend acapella competitions with me and go for a bite? You always said that shrouds don’t have pockets, so you lived big, giving generously and charitably and burning up the line to eBay. You also always said that you wouldn’t make old bones. How I wish you had been wrong about that! You were a bright light for me and your many friends, a very loving son, brother and uncle, and a true mensch. I will miss you.

Our sincerest thoughts and prayers to David's family at this difficult time. David was a near and dear friend to us and many, many others. May the Lord welcome him as he welcomed so many during his life. God bless David M.J. Vernon. Until the hour of 11......

David, You were a true friend, a straight shooter with what you believed in. Kind to those you cared for and a very skilled orator. The Elks will miss your tenacious rebuttals at the National Convention and you pin collecting. The story’s and history that you conveyed about Elks was alway elighting. You will be dearly missed by my family and me at this summer barbecue. But, we will have a drink in your honor and eat some of you favorite prosciutto appetizers in your memory. Tony and Ellen Giannetti Rest In Peace my friend the suffering is over for you.

David had a heart as big as he was. He could always make you laugh and more importantly he was a good friend. We enjoyed his company during the many conventions and Lodge functions that we attended. Although we will miss him dearly, we have many, many wonderful memories of the times we spent together and will remember him always with love.
