Florence “Gail” (Mahoney) Forte, 78, of Hudson, died on Thursday, April 14th at UMass Memorial in Worcester. She was the beloved wife of 46 years to the late Nicholas Forte who died in 2006.
Gail was born in Malden, daughter of the late William and Florence (Morris) Mahoney. She was raised in Somerville and was employed at the former Mars Department Store in Hudson for many years. Gail was an avid reader and enjoyed watching her favorite television shows. She was proud of her family and cherished having her home as the “hub” of the family. She was a member of St Michael’s Parish in Hudson.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacy Gilbar and her husband Dan of Hudson; Darlene Siewierski and her husband David of Stow;Karen Lapierre and her husband Peter of Hubbardston; 7 loving grandchildren, Kerry Gilbar Ford, Jeffrey Gilbar, Heather Siewierski, D.J. Siewierski, Courthey Pollard, Justine Votruba; Joshua Lapierre; her 7 great grandchildren Jacob, Emma, Jason, Nickolus, Mason, Carter and Kendyll; her sister, Dianne Faircloth of Florida and was predeceased by her brother William Mahoney Jr. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may attend calling hours on Tuesday, April 19th from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (www.tighehamilton.com) followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated in St. Michael’s Church 21 Manning St. Hudson on Tuesday April 19th at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
