Family, What a wonderful legacy that your parents have left to each of you! They were two of the finest Christian saints that I had the privilege of knowing. They always made me feel special whenever I was in their presence. Harriet is responsible for my love for God’s holy Word. I attended her Bible Studies in her home and she taught me how to use different resources to help me in understanding God’s Word.I am forever indebted to her for helping to make the Word come alive for me. She and I shared a love for flower design. At Christmas, Harriet would have Carlos get all the Christmas decorations down and then the two of us would decorate til we were ready to drop. There would not be a space that didn’t have some type of “Christmas decor.” That was just one of the many things that we enjoyed doing together. She always supported me in our local garden club by volunteering to help with our annual celebration of “Garden Week” in which we had events to educate the citizens about gardening. I will miss my friend but am rejoicing that she is now in heaven worshipping her Lord and Savior forever. I can hear our Savior saying to her, “Welcome my child, you have been a faithful servant now enter into your heavenly rest.” My prayer for you family, is that you will carry on her faithful witness by living out the example that she has set for each of you. Proverbs 3:5-6.

Words cannot express my love for Harriett. These last couple of years, having her in our lives have been such a blessing! She added so much to our senior Sunday School class! What wisdom she possessed! She and I shared many conversations, either on her porch, or in her home, as well as phone calls or text. We would check on each other, encourage each other in the Lord, pray and even sing together. As my heart is full of love for her, she is so close in my thoughts often. The greatest blessing I have had this week is as I sing to myself and the Lord, I feel as if she’s singing with me. I will miss her so very much!!!! Thank you all for taking such good care of your mother! You were so precious to her heart! Phyllis

Mrs. Harriet was such a fine Southern Lady. I really enjoyed our relationship at Colony Bank in Ashburn as well as outside the bank. She had such a beautiful, sincere smile that was contagious. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family. You all have such good memories to think about, and I know she is enjoying Carlos and all the beautiful sights in heaven.

My condolences to each of Harriet’s family members. Harriet will be missed by so many people! I shall always remember her radiant smile and her beautiful and powerful prayers she prayed! We talked on the phone just a few days ago and had such a good visit. Even though she was sick, she was so interested in the welfare of others. Her voice was strong and we ended our conversation with “love you and will see you Tuesday. Dianne Huff and I and others had planned to visit her today! Harriet was such a special blessing in my life. We were neighbors for probably 30 years. I, along with many others, were so blessed by the Bible studies she held in her home. I even took my young granddaughters with me (only 1 at a time), to these Bible studies when they were visiting me. Kayla and Kara still remember these special times at Harriet’s home. When I heard about Harriet’s death, these words immediately came to mind: “Absent from the body, present with the Lord! - -Our loss but heaven’’s gain.” What glory she is beholding right now! Oh, how she will be missed!

Dear family, We are greatly blessed for having known and been loved by Harriet! She was such a beautiful, thoughtful, loving person, and she touched so many lives in Turner County and especially at Ashburn First Baptist Church. It was always evident how much she loved her family and her Lord, and we rejoice with you in knowing she is now in Heaven in the arms of our Lord. May God continue to comfort and bless each of you.
