Family, I was sadden to hear of the passing of your love one. She was a fellow classmate of my sister, Peggy Williams Paulk. Growing up she was in our home many times. She was a great person and to know her was to love her. My sister went to be with the Lord in 1989 at the young age of fifty one. I hope that the two have already embraced and are rememnicing of by gone days. You will be in my prayers and thoughts.

I am so sorry about your loss. I just today - Jan 7, 2018 - learned of Mattie’s passing. I had the privilege of her friendship and worked with her at Kansas City Kansas Community College for over 25 Years! She ran the consession stand at our bbq fundraiser and even brought her mom to help. We still laugh remembering mother Lumsdem wouldn’t let Dr. Davies - former KCKCC president- get change out of the cash box that she was in charge of. Mattie had to tell her it was ok. The success of our bbq was due in large part to mattiephene’s dedication to our students. Once Kenny retired we knew she was headed back home to Lumsden Ln and her family. The thought of Mattie always and will continue to bring sunshine to my heart. She was a special lady!!!
