Arthur H. Phaneuf, Sr., 69, of New Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the Royal of Fairhaven following a long illness. He was the husband of Jean N. (Leblanc) Phaneuf, they shared 47 years of marriage.
Mr. Phaneuf was born in Acushnet, son of the late Paul and Flora Belle (Smith) Phaneuf and had been a lifelong resident of New Bedford. Prior to his retirement, he worked as foreman for the City of New Bedford. He was a hard worker and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors along with his wife include his 2 sons: Kenneth Phaneuf and his wife Lisa of New Bedford and Arthur H. Phaneuf, Jr. and his wife Laurie of New Bedford; his daughter: Lisa L. Phaneuf of New Bedford; 3 grandchildren: Kenneth Phaneuf, Jr., Christopher A. Phaneuf and Brittany Cutler; 4 great grandchildren: Hunter, Oliver, Zachary and Emma; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Ralph Phaneuf, Paul Phaneuf and Cecelia Correia.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, June 7, 2021 at the Kirby Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Monday, at the funeral home, from 10-11 A.M., prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
