New Bedford – Mark A. Messier, 54, of New Bedford passed away due to complications from pneumonia on November 28, 2017.
Mr. Messier was born in New Bedford, son of the late Ronald R. and Joan C. (Airozo) Messier, and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was employed as a carpenter by the City of New Bedford. He was Past President of AFSCME having served for 18 years.
Survivors include his son: Jonathan A. Messier, a brother: Scott K. Messier; 1 grandson; 1 niece: Laura Messier & 1 nephew: Allen Messier

Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial visiting hours at the Kirby Funeral Home, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford on Monday, December 11, 2017. 4:00-6:30 P.M. followed immediately by funeral services at 6:30 P.M.
