Thelma L. (Hathaway) Durfee, 93, of Tiverton, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Warren Center. She was the longtime companion of Franklin "Clem" Cotta, they shared 45 years together.
Ms. Durfee was born in Fall River, daughter of the late William E. Hathaway, Sr. and the late Mildred L. (Peckham) Hathaway and was a lifelong resident of Tiverton. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a nurse's aide at the Grand Islander, Middletown. She was a member of Amicable Congregational Church, Tiverton and sang in the Jr. and Sr. choir for 42 years. She would also often fill in for the organist and teach bible and Sunday school. Ms. Durfee loved to dance and swim and tan at Fogland.
Survivors along with her companion include her 3 daughters: Sharon L. Magan and her husband Richard of FL, Cheryl & Lauren; 10 grandchildren: Michael, Jennifer, Burl, Daniel, Kristy, Kerry, Katie, Kimberly, Kylie and Kaitlin; 23 great grandchildren including Jessica, Charlie, Bailey, Bryanna, R.J. & Xander; 3 great great grandchildren: Micheal, Kendal & Chloe; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late William E. Hathaway, Jr. and grandmother of the late Kasey Corscadden.
