George Maltais, 90, of Dartmouth, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 at home peacefully, after a long illness. He was the husband of Elsie Maltais and the son of the late Joseph C.H. Maltais and the late Georgianna LaPierre Maltais. Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons: George L. Maltais and his companion Patricia Brightman of Dartmouth and Jody "Luc" Maltais and his companion Laurie Sears of Dartmouth; grandchildren: Joshua, Tyler, Rachel and the late Ryan Maltais; great grandchild: Landyn Maltais; sister: Florence Corderre of Fall River; and several nieces and nephews.
George, a lifelong resident of Dartmouth, was a dedicated and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a humble and resourceful man who used his many talents of farming, carpentry and mechanic skills to achieve any endeavor he set out to do. He was observant and creative; a teacher without knowing, it is said that if he didn't have it, he would make it. George was active and enjoyed the outdoors, working on his farm and in his garage, gardening and clam boils with his family.
Visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Potter Funeral Home from 9 - 11 A.M.
Interment service will be Friday, January 8, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery, Dartmouth at 12 P.M.
Funeral services will be private.
