Siegfried F. "Siggy" Stiegler, 90, of Dartmouth passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Ilse (Richter) Stiegler, they were married for 67 years.
Born in Grosskayna, Germany, son of the late Fritz and Milda (Schaller) Stiegler, he immigrated to the United States with his wife in 1956 and became a U.S. citizen in 1962. Prior to retirement, he worked for Freetown Screw and also worked at Stillwater in New Bedford. Mr. Stiegler was a Master Mason of the Noquochoke Lodge A.F. & A.M. for 58 years. He was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Bruins fan, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and having Saturday morning breakfasts with his daughters.
Including his wife, survivors include 2 daughters: Monica I. Stiegler and her fiancé Steven Soucy of New Bedford and Erika S. Downs and her husband Michael of Dartmouth; 2 grandchildren: Sydney Downs and Matthew Downs; a niece: Brita Dey of Germany and a great niece: Evelyn Lardons of Germany.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 - 11:00 A.M. prior to the service, with a Masonic Service held at 10:45 A.M.
Burial will be private.
