CONDOLENCES (GuestBook)

The world has lost one of its angels, and Heaven gained one. I knew Oscar since 1958. Oscar never had a bad word about anyone. When I went to see Oscar in Port Orange, FL he was always such a joy. My condolences to his family, and Nancy in particular. I grew up in Springfield, MA, not too far from Oscar in Chicopee, MA. Oscar was rightfully proud of his participation in the D-Day invasion. I know that Oscar's pride and joy was his family, and his wife Betty. He made that very clear. Being buried in Mass. tells me that he never forgot his roots and where he came from.

Loved the guy - Used to talk to him as VK4EEE - Nigel from Australia on pretty much a nightly basis on the net on 20mtrs, (I now hold the call VK4GP). Always good to hear the voices belonging to Oscar - K1IYD and Bob KI4RU both were a pair of diamonds and I miss them. I remember I needed a pair of valves for my amp - Oscar managed to get a pair from a mob in California and somehow managed to get them to my place in Australia in just a few days - something that would normally take weeks did not take more than 4 or 5 days! Amazing! That was the sort of gentleman he was. Take care my friend - '73's and my love and thoughts to you and all those you loved - de VK4GP Nigel Marsh - Caboolture Queensland.
