I'm so saddened to hear of Brian's passing. He was a bulwark of the Harriers and running in general. Interesting that his wife is a "Kurtz" like me. Maybe were' related way back. My sincere condolences to her and his family.

Mary, my deepest condolences. Brian and I spent hours boring each other with our chatter about running on our way to and from races around the state. I always admired his straight forward sincerity. I can still see him running down Beech Street at the St Patrick's Day Road Race in Holyoke.In recent years he would stop to say hello to me as I watched the runners pass near my home.

My Old Running Buddy Brian. I am very sorry Brian & Mary I just read this. I was hoping to see you run this weekend at the USAT&F Cross Country Championship here in Spokane, Washington. I read that the "Harriers" were coming and I checked the "Harriers" facebook page and saw the sad news. I am very sad. Brian was a lot of Fun.
