CONDOLENCES (GuestBook)

To Bruce's Family and Friends, Deepest sympathy to all who cared and loved Bruce. He was a wonderful friend of my Uncles [the Birdsall brothers, Lloyd and Duwaine]. He spent many hours fixing equipment at the farm for a number of years. Every Fall, before Harvest, he would be there with his welding rig to fix all the broken parts. And, he seemed to really enjoy just visiting and lunches that Duwaine's wife, Shirley, made. He was a fine gentleman and a true and honest friend to many. May God Bless him.

Knew Bruce in recent years and he was my friend. Always liked the way he spoke his mind. You had no trouble knowing what he thought on any subject. He will be sorely missed by all of our club members and all who knew him. My deepest condolences go out to all his friends and family.

I distinctly remember two times, where my Uncle Bruce was over tbe moon, with happiness. I honestly feel these are my favorite memories. Well, other then the hyinks he and my father would come up with. Playing pranks on each other, frequently. Also, a lot of fishing stories with an added nephew or two. My first memory was when I was very young, maybe five? I remember being at Uncle Bruce and my Aunt Barbs wedding. I remember having new shiny shoes that clicked on the floor and my parents trying to keep my sister and I quiet. I remember the pews were a light tan stained color and were slippery. I remember my Aunt having a shorter wedding dress and her long legs showed. Even at that age, wedding dresses were usually long so this stood out. I thought she was really with it, or modern, and she was tall and thin like a magazine model But most of all, I remember how happy my Uncle was. At the front of the church he was trying to be serious, probably nervous, but he couldnt help smiling. After they married and were coming down the aisle, his smile was gigantic like he had a huge !i Light in him. His eyes were sparkling. He was ginning so big, his cheeks probably hurt the next day. I dont remember much more but Ill also say he was in a suit. And that wasnt common with him or my dad. Wagners clean up pretty good. Another memory stuck in my brain, was fun. Im pretty sure he didnt have children yet. I dont remember if he was married. Uncle Bruce showed up on Easter with two special gifts for us girls. He opened his coat and we were ecstatic he had two baby chickens. I couldnt wait to touch them! He gave us each a chick and they were ye!low and super soft. They peeped a lot. While I was playing with my chick, I looked over at my mom and dad. They didnt look particularly happy. Uncle Bruce had a huge grin and was giggling. I remember one of my parents saying Bruce, you shouldnt have. Years later I realized it was a prank on my parents because who could take away baby chickens from 2 exuberant little girls, on Easter, no less. Uncle Bruce was very proud of his accomplishment. And he laughed heartily as he left. I loved my chick very much. And I thought he was the best Uncle ever!
