Gordon was my barber and my friend for over 15 years. No matter what health issues existed he continually had a smile on his face and a kind word for all. Always community minded he was an example to emulate. I will miss him.

During the years I lived on Carver Street I went to Gordon to have my hair cut; I always appreciated his welcoming presence and the honest and frank community banter as we waited for our turn in his chair. And I admired the pride and love with which he spoke of his family (and especially the vacation trips with the grandchildren and in particular Disney World). I also have to mention that as a gay man I always felt totally accepted and welcomed by Gordon, and I was deeply moved to be treated with respect and consideration. My condolences to the family.
