CONDOLENCES (GuestBook)

Hutch was a great guy and someone I've know since we went to the Weston Public Schools from 1st through 12th grades. In working to plan class reunions after high school, Hutch was helpful to me and lugged many cases, or kegs of beer, when we had our reunions at the Josiah Smith Tavern in Weston Center. In 2008, another reunion was on tap. This time, we decided to have the reunion at the Chateau in Waltham. It took away the burden of lugging beer and many other items in and out of the JST. Hutch was "in" for that plan and I sat with him and Jane at our lunch. It turned out to be a terrific event where everyone could share stories and enjoy a good meal at a decent price. Hutch was a friend and helpful to anyone who needed his assistance. He never lost his love for Weston or the Weston Fire Department. Although I live far away from Weston, Hutch, Jane and I kept in touch. He always had great stories to share about his children and grandchildren. I will miss him and his smile, but always feel gratitude for the friendship we shared.

Hutch and I were in the same Weston High School class from 1st through 12th grades. Not only did that put us in a little "elite" (in our minds) group of our own, but he and I marched together in the graduation ceremony - because he was the shortest boy in the class and I was the shortest girl. In our tight-knit class, one never forgets who your partner in the graduation march was. And, in case either one of us might forget, we laughed about it at all our class reunions after that. Hutch was a friend to all. Jane Gross
