To the family of Joanne Davis: My sympathy to you on the loss of your mother, a wonderful woman. One thing I remember about Joanne is that she always focused on the person she was talking to -- as though that person were the only one in the world. I admire her personal attention and dedication. This was my first grade teacher at Claypit Hill Elementary School in Wayland. She had a huge impact on my childhood because it is the first year of school that I really remember. My Mom was the "room mother" and "friday specials" were really special to me. I remember her for being so sweet, kind, having the most lovely, calming voice and a very beautiful face. My thoughts go out to the family of Mrs. Davis, may she rest in peace. Wayland Patch
