Very Sorry to hear of the Passing of Doc.I knew Doc for many years, playing softball with and against him. He also was a member of the Wilmington knights of Columbus 4982. He was very active in spear heading many events to help many charities. Doc was a very Well Respected Man and will be Greatly Missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his Family and Friends. R.I.P. Dave Orndorff was a member of Company A, 3rd. Bn., 1st Inf. in Vietnam during 1968. Dave saw extensive combat as an infantryman while in Vietnam. He was a good and brave soldier. His fellow soldiers enjoyed serving with Dave and considered him a good example as to what a soldier should do in combat. Dave was very popular at our reunions. Rest in peace my friend. James A. David served with me in Vietnam (A/3/1) and was a natural leader and hell of a soldier. We found each other again about 17 years ago and David was committed to finding our brothers and getting them to our Battalion Reunion so we could all reunite. We got together two to three times a year in Vermont and Florida and it will not be the same without him.....there is only one Dave....RIP Brother

Although it’s been quite sometime, I worked for many years with Dave at the Wilmington Post Office. I remember him as a pretty laid back guy and a very decent person. My condolences to his family. Rest In Peace, Dave.

I met Dave through my Husband, Mike, who served with Dave in Vietnam. Dave was an honest, sincere, man with a fabulous sense of humor and he quickly became one of my favorite people. Dave’s generous heart had a way of making people in his world feel special. I will miss him more than words can express. Our times spent in the Florida Keys will never be the same without him.
