To the Loughran family, Mike was one of my late brother Dan’s closest friends beginning in grammar school. They were double eagles having graduated from BC High and Boston College and Mike was a frequent and beloved visitor to our home. Mike beautifully sang “Danny Boy” leaving few dry eyes at Dan’s funeral in 2002. May he Rest In Peace and may you all find comfort in the love he shared so willingly. Fondly, Maureen Dunn Gendrolius

Michael’s shy/sly smile will be with me always. Since I was a small girl I thought of Michael as my big brother. The Morgans and the Loughrans were always joined at the hip. I treasure all the many gatherings that we all shared through the years - playing cards, parties, holidays, barbecues, and singing around the piano with Adeline or Josie accompanying us. Basically all gathering together at any excuse for a celebration. Michael was strong and gentle. Well educated and open to others’ thoughts. Always game and fun. Warm and understanding. Dear Patty and all the Loughrans, the deep connection between the Loughrans and the Morgans has been so deep, rich, and indelible since the 1950s. Even when he was a young teenager, we all saw and sought his goodness, his integrity, his intelligence, his bright spirit, and loved Michael as one of our own. The relationship between Mike and my dad was beautiful, and so vital to them both. Personally, I have always considered Michael the loving and patient brother I never had. I lit up when I saw him. I send my love, my deepest condolences, and my appreciation for our families’ seventy years of extraordinary history together. I love you, Mike. Thank you so very much for everything.
