Uncle Charge was one of a kind. The very definition of politically incorrect, ethical and honest, we are so thankful he was such a big part of our family, growing up- and that our kids grew up so close him and Aunt Brenda, too. Dad's best friend and only brother. Being the best cheerleaders during Hockey Night in Boston, taking us and our kids to BC football games and tailgating in Blue Chip parking, BC hockey at the Conte, lunch at the club, visits in Canton and Vermont, an Easter egg hunt foiled by Siamese kittens, Alex and his Canadian hockey teammates sleeping all over their house during a tournament, UC and AB making the long trip to Quebec for the Stanstead's graduation, giving Elisabeth her own kitten, teaching a very young Christian the definition of 'breakfast of champions', planning wedding showers with AB and Uncle Charge asking her and EG how much money they saved him on their annual shopping trips, all of his loving lectures, Lynwood and 'Spa' nights, trips to 'the Crowell', shoveling Nana and Boo out, their well-stocked goodie drawer, a lifetime of Christmas Eves, how many dinners at Nan's?, how many birthdays on Ponky?, his loving presence at the hospital, every single day, the summer we lost Aunt Brenda and the countless times they welcomed us, and everyone else, into their home with open arms... Even in the sad time since Aunt Brenda died, we are so thankful for our frequent phone calls and visits. You always managed to make us smile and feel loved- I hope we did the same for you. A thousand stories, a thousand memories...and a thousand thank yous would never be enough. We love you and miss you already, Uncle Charge...until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
