To Matt and family--It was a great honor and pleasure for me to be able to meet Mary. There are very few people that I have crossed paths with in life that have shown such kindness to a virtual stranger, yet always included me and my family in her prayers. Visiting Mary Shannon during our long recruiting trips was one of the highlights and I feel blessed to have known her. Her passion for the Lord and the love of her family were so admirable. To the Shannon family: Your mother was the Saint of Saints. Whenever I went to the Shannon household, the door was never locked. There, in the kitchen was your Mom always preparing something for one of you kids. I’m sure she is already with the lord. On behalf of the entire Crossman family in Pennsylvania, I want to offer my condolences on the passing of our Aunt Mary. She was a beautiful person and always made us feel part of her family. Although the miles separated us, we always knew she cared about how we were all doing. She told me how much she loved receiving my Christmas card and seeing how much my grandchildren were growing. My last visit to Canton 2 yrs. ago included a stop at the house. She insisted on making us lunch. She will be missed.
