Dear Joann and Chris, Kim and Matt. Uncle Guy and I are very saddened by our families loss. He was a great man in all respects as a husband, father and a community leader. Uncle Guy and I enjoyed his company at all our family celebrations. Be strong and remember he may not be with you physically, but spiritually he will always be present watching over all. Love, Uncle Chubby and Auntie Gail

Dear Joanne, So sorry to hear about Dennis's passing. I have so many fun memories of him and you from working at the Carney so many years ago.He actually drove around once in a huge SUV to pick up nurses who lived close by in a blizzard so the staff who had been stuck there could go home and joked he should keep driving instead of taking us to work!! So sorry for your sadness.I remember working with you at Carney so long ago and was so sorry to lose you when you went to work at Milton Hospital.Thinking of you and your family.

Dear Joanne, Chris, Kim, and Matt, there is nothing I can say to convey the enormity of the loss of such a wonderful man. My best friend for sixty years, my brother from another mother. No one outside of my wife and my immediate family had a bigger impact on my life than this man. He was always there to help, advise and share stories about the wacky things our dads did. So willing to jump in and fix something for his inept best friend. So kind to include me in his family life. All those bachelor years prior to Jane were filled with watching Dennis and Joanne raise three of the greatest kids any parent could ask for. Those things don't happen by accident. It took commitment. When I married and found myself with two stepsons, he was there to guide this rookie dad through it all. Parker and Garret are better men for his help. Dennis never did anything halfway. Joanne please know how grateful I am he found you. He lived as long as he did because of all your incredible effort and commitment to your marriage vows. Our conversations in recent years often centered around how he could make your life a little easier. We all know how he gritted his way through incredible pain to be part of fun things for all of us who needed that light he brought to whatever was on the table. Chris, Kim, and Matt, though it hurts so bad right now rejoice in the fact that you were raised by such a strong, hardworking, focused man. You truly are a living legacy to all the hard work of your parents . I am so sorry I can not be there this weekend, it breaks my heart even more. I am with you in spirit, and you know I am always going to be there for you for as long as God allows me. God bless and keep our Dennis and protect and comfort his family.

To the Gada Family, I had the pleasure to work with Dennis at Carney Hospital for 12 years. We worked together in management positions. I was in Public Relations and Executive Director of the Carney Hospital Foundation. Dennis was always a gentleman as well as a respected member of the Carney Family. He was very helpful to me and my Department in solving any issue. I am truly sorry for your loss and I offer my sincere condolences. Sincerely, Bill Henderson

Joanne, I am so sorry for your family's sad loss. I left MA in '79, but before that Dennis and I were housemates at 735 Dedham Street for 3 years. Tony's wedding (when I met you) might've been the first time I saw Dennis since then. So almost all my memories of him are pretty distant (except for his mopping Tony's brow with a handkerchief in the church - a classic!), but all these years later they are still very fond memories.

Joanne, Chris, Kim, Matt, Peggy, No words can ease the pain you are going through at this time. Dennis is gone too soon. May our GOD send his holy spirit to comfort you during this difficult time. Doreen and I are with you in spirit and continue to lift you in prayer. May the wonderful memories carry you through until we are all reunited when our lord returns. Dennis was always quick with a smile and even if you hadn't seen each other in years he could make you fell like it was just yesterday. I remember such a time, we were vacationing at Sebago lake in Maine, staying in Barb's trailer at the campground. There was a small deli/market a short walk from the campground and Doreen sent me on a mission to bring her a muffin for her morning coffee. So I walk to the deli, stroll in and from behind me I hear a movie line from Casablanca; "Of all the Gin joints in all the world, you have to walk into my deli....he didn't sound like Humphrey Bogart but as I turned, there was that smile that could light up a room. We laughed at the notion that here we are; one from CT and the other from Mass and meet by chance in a deli in Maine. It may not sound like much to anyone else but it will always be a fond memory for me. Mike, Amy,Barb, Doreen and I will be making a donation in Dennis' name to the hospital listed. Our deepest sympathy, Love Rick

It's hard to imagine the neighborhood without Dennis. We've been neighbors for 24 years, and Dennis was a great neighbor and friend that would do anything for anyone in need. I've learned a lot from him over this time - he has been a mentor to me not just because he always called me "kid" or "kiddo" (which I'll dearly miss) and not just because he was Stoughton's best tool/solution man", but mainly because of his dedication to his family. Chris, Kim, Matt, I know you realize what a wonderful man and father your Dad was, and it is reflected in the upstanding adults you have all become. Dennis had been my co-pilot on a few "Angel Flights" in the past and he would chat up a storm with the patients we were transporting. He would talk with so much pride of his daughter earning her doctorate degree in DPT, his son in the military and now policeman, and his oldest son and twin - Chris, (should have called him Dennis Jr.) who I believe he had the most fun with growing up and involved in his baseball. He was so proud of you all, and it's hard to imagine a life more complete. Joanne, you were an amazing supportive wife, and together you accomplished the ultimate goal - creating a family legacy in a world that truly needs good people like the children you raised. I know Dennis is up there smiling and beaming in pride. I'll truly miss him. Doug.

Tolland, CT,
My heartfelt condolences to all. Dennis was such a great guy...always kind, friendly and funny. I remember his quick wit and great sense of humor, and he got us the best seats I've ever had for a Red Sox Yankees game. Tom, Rick and I enjoyed the game from a few rows behind the Red Sox dugout. The story I share was really my mother's. I don't remember why she had to be in Boston for the day but when Dennis found out he took her to lunch and spent the whole day showing her around the city. She loved that and often spoke fondly about it. Not many would take the time to spend the day with their aunt and make it special, but Dennis did. It's just a small testament to his naturally kind and generous nature. He will be greatly missed and greatly welcomed in heaven. Joanne, Chris, Kim, Matt, Peggy, Amy and I send our love, prayers and support. God keep you in his perfect peace.

Joanne, Chris, Kim and Matt, I was very saddened to hear of your fathers passing. I am truly sorry for your loss and hope you can find solace in joyous memories. It's not often you meet someone who was so well respected as Dennis. I didn't know him as well as others may have, but I never heard anyone say a bad word about him. I have fond memories of our times together. I will always remember him as a fun-loving and wise role model. He and Tony would joke about how Garrett and I couldn't do anything they hadn't tried before and they would see it coming. He left a lasting impression on me that was equal parts rebellious and responsible. His devotion to his family was remarkable, and his ability to show a young kid how hard work pays off was unforgettable. Joanne, Chris, Kim and Matt, I wish you all the best. And to Dennis, thank you for being a great role model for the next generation.

To the Gada family: I am so sorry for the loss of Dennis. At 68, this is way too young. He was loved by all who knew him. He was my room mate at our fraternity house for a couple of years. I got to know Dennis very well and we had many great times together. Unfortunately 50 years have passed and we never saw each other as often as we would have liked. We both had families and responsibilities we had to take care of. God Bless Dennis and his family.

Please accept my deepest condolence over your loss of the beloved Dennis. He was much too young to leave us but while he was here he contributed in so many different ways including all of his activities with the Town and local events. He was truly a special person who I especially enjoyed talking to about anything automotive including NASCAR. He will be sorely missed.
