Candice, I am sending my deepest sympathies at the loss of your mom. Loretta was a great inspiration to me during my years with The Warner Trail. She convinced me I had the skills to lead a blind woman on the trail and later to help clear a new trail for the Paul Newman Cancer Camp in Ct. We spent a Thanksgiving together in the mountains of Vermont. She was a true lover of nature and a true inspiration. She will be greatly missed. I know she loved you very much. I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers.

I am shocked and saddened to read the news about Loretta's passing. As a Trustee to the Sharon Public Library, I had the chance to get to know her. On behalf of myself and the staff at the library, we send our heartfelt condolences.

Glen, NH,
Saddened to hear of Loretta's passing. My condolences to her family. She had twice the energy of people half her age. Her dedication to AMC's Knubble Bay Camp in Maine was an inspiration to all her fellow volunteers. Hard to believe that she drove up to the camp at the end of October to cook a full turkey dinner for the Fall work weekend, and to attend the meeting. I was aware of the prestigious AMC award she had received, but had no idea of all the others … a testament to her humility and incredible work ethic. She loved the outdoors and many of us will remember her paddling her kayak around Knubble Bay, especially out to Birch and Beal Islands. She was an amazing person that I was fortunate to have known, and that we will all miss.

Loretta will be sorely missed by her many friends in the legal community and well beyond. She was one of the more caring and giving persons I have met and helped countless people from her work with the food pantry and other charitable work. May she rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of working with Loretta for many years. Loretta was one of the most dedicated attorneys to the Bar Association of Norfolk County. As Executuve Director of the bar association I witnessed her dedication to public service and her continuous untiring efforts to raise monies for the local food pantries and The Greater Boston Food Banks. As past President of the Bar Association she was also honored as our “Person of the Year”. Always smiling and friendly. She will be missed. Adrienne Clarke

I just heard of Loretta's passing - I'm terribly saddened by her passing. I first met Loretta when we both worked at the Welfare Dept. 50 years ago (!); she was also my brother's medicaid social worker. In recent years, Loretta and I would get together every few months for lunch and share exploits. Loretta is still with me as the role model for how to live life to its fullest. She was an inspiration for me and I will miss her terribly.

Hi - I hope this makes it to someone in Loretta's family who might give me 5 minutes on the phone - I am just hearing about her death, and so sorry I didn't stay in touch over the years. Loretta reached out to me after she heard of my story (I was in politics and radio) to say she was the social worker who helped my mother access financial assistance way back.....either in the 50's or 60's? we lived in Brookline at the time....she was also a constituent of mine when I ran and won election to the House of Representatives from Sharon.....if anyone in the family, or any of Loretta's friends from that time would be willing to connect, I'd love to learn more. I can be reached at 617-835-2626 or [email protected]. Thanks so much I wish I had known her better, she sounds like an amazing human being xo
