I was saddened to read of Bill's passing. I was delighted to befriend Bill after Gitta's passing and enjoyed many dinner dates with him. Once he joined me at my Tahoe home for hikes with friends and I apologized for taking him on a "forced march", having forgotten the difficulty of the hike to Eagle Falls. Over the last year, I wondered why I had not seen him with his friend Peggy at HP or Piatti's. I always enjoyed conversing with him as he had so much to share. My sympathies to you. Bill was a genuinely nice man and we will miss him.
