Marion Sweeney was the ultimate professional, a trusted colleague and an amazing teacher . Whenever needed by a student or a teacher Marion was there with her knowledge and willingness. She was the strength and soul of the science department at West Roxbury High School. We will miss this great lady.

Sallyann, I was so shocked to hear of Marion's passing. She was one terrific lady, teacher, and friend. I loved car pooling with her to school on days when my car wouldn't start. Sallyann, I just heard about “Sweeney’s” passing. I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. And very sorry I missed her funeral. Not sure if you remember me, I worked with your great sister at East Boston High. Ooh the fun we had there, with Jim Dancy and softball! Memories, I will always cherish! She was such a great person! She’s with “Dancy” now, I can just hear the two of them! You’re in my prayers to find strength, take care of yourself, she was an awesome sister!

With deepest sympathy. Marion was an example of a true professional. She taught me a lot by example and will be missed. When I first started teaching as Westie, I would make numerous visits during the summer to prepare and I can't remember one time arriving and not seeing Marion's old Volvo already there. Truly one of the hardest working teachers I ever knew. It was an honor to be a colleague.

We enjoyed many conversations as Marion walked your dog and when we were walking around the neighborhood. I (Linda) shared teacher talk with Marion, as we were both teachers.
