It hurts my heart to know she has passed. we talked about her daughter and my children all the time. She always had great joy in her eyes when I spoke about them. It made me feel good to see she loved my children and didn't even know them. She had a beautiful soul. She had great taste in jewelry and that was always our conversation starter. She will be missed BUT never forgotten. There will always be a special place in my heart for her. And I will cherish the gift she gave me.

I was very shocked and saddened to learn the news of Menaka's passing. I had only known her a few years after starting work at BIDMC in 2015, but we worked together more my first year always talking about what we had for lunch. We also rode the bus together at times from Ruggles to the Hospital when I worked mornings. I send my deepest condolences to her family.

We met Menaka and family during a trip to Peru in June 2013 and have stayed in touch since that trip, meeting again for lunch in Virginia when the family was in the area. We shared texts and pictures of our families, dogs, football, and travel. What a beautiful woman, inside and out, who loved adventure and had such an infectious smile. To Raj, Mamtha and Nana: We are so very sorry for this incredible loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers. May precious memories flood your minds in the days, weeks and years to come. George and I are so very sorry to hear about Menaka. We loved the time we had with her and her lovely family when we traveled in Costa Rica. We admired her adventurous spirit and were so happy to be part of her first zip-lining experience! Menaka’s beautiful photos from her trips to Africa convinced us to book our own trip for next year. Our hearts are breaking for her family, especially for her husband, daughter and mother whom we also got to know on our trip. We will very much miss having the opportunity to travel with Menaka in the future as we had talked about. We will also miss her very caring and loving soul.
