Bill was a true gentlemen who cared deeply about those less fortunate. He was a mentor to me by showing and demonstrating what it means to be a Vincentian in every sense of the word.I will continue to do the works of the Society the way Bill guided me and know there is a special place in Heaven for him.

Dear Sue, I am out of State, otherwise I would be there to pray with you. Bill was a wonderful, giving person. I know how much he did quietly for those in need. I especially treasure traveling with him to St Boniface Hospital in Haiti. He gave medically, but also he added so much jjoy to our group. I will be praying for both of you at Mass this weekend. Thank you both for what you have done for God's people.

There are not enough words to truly describe the character, the charisma, the love of his Catholic Faith, or the dedication to his family and friends alike. The happiest days of my life was working for Dr. Sullivan. In addition to daily duties, at a moments notice, he would send me to White's Bakery to pick up a cake or pastry or two. On occasion, he would ask if I was doing anything for the weekend. Thus I would end up house-sitting in Canton. If he had an urge for spaghetti, (Knowing my mother was Italian) he would pull up in our driveway and join nus for supper. At a time, when the " Kiss of Peace" was new to the Mass and he was a Lector at my wedding, Dr. Sullivan took at least 20 minutes to acknowledge each and every person in the Church, while the Priest patiently waited! Thank you Dr. Sullivan for the precious memories, proud to have known you and your family - Mary (Hogan) Mara

I will miss Bill Sullivan's sense of humor, generosity, and profound intelligence. I remember the many summers on Cape Cod where he would hold court on the beach. He didn't so much draw attention to himself as focus it on others - from young children to seasoned adults - in ways that made you hope that he would at some point single you out (he always did). Being around him was always a joy. He took life seriously, but he didn't take himself too seriously - a perfect balance.

I will forever treasure the many great memories I have of my friend Dr. Sullivan. I met Dr. Sullivan when I was 20 years old. He aLways made it a point to stop by my office after his walks on the grounds of MA Hospital School. He was always willing to lend a hand wherever needed. Thirty years later I often look out that same office window and reflect on some of the greatest words of wisdom he often shared. A special memory I have is when we set up a special visit with the Peanut Man (my husband) at Fenway Park. It was very important to Dr. Sullivan that his Grandson have a special day at Fenway. When he brought his grandson to the peanut cart on Yawkey he was over the moon when the peanut man acknowledged him by his first. We planned out the whole script. I learned today that Dr. Sullivan is in heaven now. Goodbye my old friend may you rest in the sweetest peace.
