I remember Mr. Walsh as a very important authority figure in my childhood. He was my principal from 1st-5th (1971-1975) at the Hansen School and a neighbor in the wonderful neighborhood where I grew up. I am grateful for all he contributed to the children and people of Canton, MA. May he rest in peace with my beloved mother. My sympathy goes out to his family during this sad time.

At the age of 5, Larry Walsh was my swimming teacher. Later, he was my principal at the Dean S. Luce School. And in 1970, I was a teacher in his school. Larry was respected and loved. He made his school a community and a safe place to learn. His door was always open. He cared deeply about his students and teachers. Yesterday, thousands of his former students and hundreds of his teachers lost their teacher, their mentor, their friend.

We are so sorry for your loss. Swifts Beach will not be the same without Larry. He was the greeter of the beach (always sitting in the same spot). It was a pleasure knowing him for the past 40 years. Our family will miss him.

My heartfelt condolences to all Larry's family and extended family. I was a close friend of Larry and Anne at Swift's Beach during all of our teen years and young adulthood. I have nothing but the fondest memories of Larry (and Anne and his mother and father). Larry was a very good athlete and a wonderful educator. Canton has lost one of the pillars of its educational system. Be sure of my prayers for Larry and all of the Walsh Family.

My prayers and condolences are with the entire Walsh family. From the time I first was introduced by my mother to this man, many years ago, until the very end, I always called him "Mr. Walsh" . He was a man who was both loved and respected by all he met. He touched many lives and our world was a better place because of him. He will be missed by us all.
