A message to my father. As i sit here thinking about my life, i have you to thank for everything i am. As i sit here thinking about my youth, I have you to thank for letting me be a child. You watched me become a young man, and extended your words of wisdom. You was my father, and I your son, but you could relate, you were also my brother. We lived together, we struggled together, i learned from you. Everything in my soul, everything in my heart, every drop of blood. Every drop of water. Every molecule. I have you stored in my DNA. People say don’t meet your heroes, I met mine January, 19th, 1986, you been my hero since. A master carpenter like Jesus, master electrician like Einstein. You put your family before yourself, gave to those that didn’t have anything. You were protecter of many, could light up a room. Hilariously funny, extremely witty, very punctual, and always showed backbone. Your courage superior. Your love know no bounds. You didn’t judge for my beliefs, you were there to help battle my demons. You protected me. I am forever grateful. You’re not gone, your memory is instilled in me, and your lessons will be passed on to many. Papi, te adoro, te estraño mucho. Continue to look over your children, and grandkids. Your new granddaughter, Gia. Gosh, i wish you could’ve met her. She is beautiful, and has our cheekbones! If there’s another side, guess we’ll hang when i get there. Save me a seat at the bar, tell my granddad I miss him. Tell my grandmother I wish we could’ve met. Tell Kevin I miss him as well. I will continue your legacy. I will stay strong for us, and the family. I will continue to make you proud. Voy a siguer luchando. Pa’lante.
