We are saddened to learn of Mike's passing and wish all his family and friends peace and comfort as they remember him. Together with friends we shared a number of Mike stories and they all made us smile. May he rest in peace.

I remember Mike as we worked together at the Shattuck Hospital. Mike was always so kind to the patients and those who suffered so much. He will be fondly thought of in all of our collective memories. I personally will miss seeing him there as I would check in as a nurse. Blessings to his family as Mike goes home to God.

We will miss you at the Shattuck. May you be with miss kitty and listening to your rock and roll music. Rest in peace. Bless your family with God's love and comfort them through this sad time.

To all of Mike's family I am so blessed to have known Mike for the 18 years we worked together at LS hospital. Mike's kindness, wit and enthusiasm were contagious. Always a kind word, even during the most trying of times and situations. If Mike was a friend of yours he was a friend for life and he didn't have to prove a thing. Today I found out that God has taken one of the most fabulous men I will ever know. He will be missed forever, always remembered and never forgotten. Mike did protect and serve the people of the hospital and the Commonwealth way beyond the call of duty by checking on us not only in the capacity of his Security duties but personally as well. Mike had an interest in people that made you feel a part of something good something better, stronger and that meant something.Rest in Peace my friend and an' ol' Irish saying May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sunshine warm upon your face. May the rains fall upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand. Bless you

Mike, we miss you so much. I’m so heart broken that we are so far away. I was heart broken moving away from you. We loved having you for dinner or for a quick visit. JJ loves you so much and he misses you dearly. I wish we could have said goodbye. I hope you’re at peace now and in no pain at all. We will meet again, we love you. Paula

Mike, we miss you dearly. It was so difficult to move so far away from you. We miss your smile and laugh. We loved getting visits from you for coffee or coming over for dinner. JJ will miss his wrestling buddy! You always came over with a gift for JJ. Or a sports team logo hat for me. Man this is so hard! I really wish we didn’t have to move so we could have seen you more. We miss everything about you. I hope you’re at peace now and not in pain. We love you, we’ll meet again. ??

I knew Mike was sick. Saw him a couple years ago. Was really hoping he was going to pull out of it. Just wanted his family friends know that Mike was a tough and brave kid but they already know that. The Shattuck was a tough and sometimes violent place to work. Mike was always there when things got bad and never ran from a fight. Even though we worked for different departments we both helped each other out. Unfortunately it was that commitment at keeping the peace that ultimately became Mike's demise. He was a good officer as solid as they come. Rest in peace Officer Munson
