Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather

DRACUT - Robert A. “Bob” Martin, 69, a resident of Dracut died at home on Sunday, April 12, 2009, surrounded by his family and friends.

He was the loving husband of Carol (Rollo) Martin, who survives him. They would have celebrated their 50th Anniversary on September 12, 2009. He was a communicant of St. Francis Church, Dracut.

Born in Lowell, February 16, 1940, he was the son of the late George and Evangeline (Pepin) Martin. He attended St. Louis Elementary School and Lowell High School. Mr. Martin was employed as a printer in the Greater Lowell area for many years, including the owner of “RAM Type” print shop.

Bob will be remembered for his devotion to his family, and his never ending sense of humor.

Mr. Martin is survived by two daughters, Karen Morency of Dracut; Kristine Renaud and her husband Eric Renaud of Methuen; and two sons, Robert A. Martin Jr. of Dracut; and Rick Martin and his wife April Martin of Dracut.

In addition to his children, he has 9 beloved grandchildren; Erica Morency, Kayla Morency, Nicholas Morency, Jacob Martin, Sammy Martin, Adam Martin, Brandon Renaud, Hayley Renaud and Ashley Renaud.

He is also survived by one brother, George “Buddy” Martin, Jr. of Nashua; two sisters, Ruth Dubuc and her husband Arthur Dubuc of Lowell; and Constance Crabill of Spring Hill, FL. Four sister-in-laws; Mildred Clogston of Tewksbury; Dorothy Vigeant and her husband Maurice Vigeant of Dracut; Shirley Petersen and her husband Robert Petersen of Lowell; one brother-in-law William Rollo, Jr. and his wife Phyllis Rollo of Dracut. One aunt, Jeannette Pepin of Lowell; and several cousins, nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Robert and Connie Millette of Lowell. He was also the brother-in-law of the late Ralph Clogston.

On behalf of Bob’s family, we want to thank the Lowell General Cancer Center and VNA of Greater Lowell for their wonderful support and care.

Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT on Wednesday from 4 until 8 PM. His funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Thursday at 9 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 AM at St. Michael's Church in Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made in Robert Martin’s name to the VNA Hospice of Greater Lowell, P.O. Box 1965, Lowell, MA 01853-1965.
