Yvone Lillian Strang (77) of Brockton passed away peacefully March 16th surrounded by her loving family.
She was a very strong willed Brocktonian and the daughter of the late James and Esther (Strang) Newman. She enjoyed taking her walks, her iced coffee, dancing, socializing, and singing karaoke with her friends in Brockton and Fall River. She loved her cats and trips to the local Dollar Tree. She was well known to many as the comical “Mayor of Brockton”. She was also a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. She had a very large and bold personality that balanced out her kind soul and love for animals. She loved her family and would selflessly do anything for them and she enjoyed it most when they were all together having a good time.
Yvone is survived by her cat Rusty, daughter Kim M. Bush and husband Doug Bush of Fall River, 2 grandchildren, Sean Thayer and Chrystal Flint, 2 sisters Rose and late brother Jeff Smith from NH , Dawn Williams and brother in law Russell of Brockton and she was the sister of the late Algene, Bobby and Kenny Patrick. She is also survived by many great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Following Cremation, A Memorial Service will take place in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Wednesday March 22nd from 2-6 pm. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated Thursday March 23rd in Christ the King Church, 54 Lyman Street Brockton at 10:30 am.
In Lieu of Flowers, Donations may be made in Yvone’s Memory to the Mental Health Foundation, the Lupus Foundation of America, the ASPCA, and to the Human Rights Campaign.
