With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maria L. Resende, 67, a resident of Florida. Maria died on February 7th at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. Born in Mosteiros, Fogo, Cabo Verde, she was the daughter of late Paulino Barbosa Vicente and late Clarinda Francisca Antunes.
Maria was the devoted wife of Avino R. Resende of Mosteiros and a phenomenal mother to her two sons, Andy Monteiro and Marvin Resende. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and businesswoman who lived her life with passion and strength. Maria loved her home country of Cabo Verde, family, entrepreneurship, gardening, flowers, and taking trips to the casino.
Maria is also survived by many brothers and sisters, maternal siblings include Domingas Veiga, Rosalina Gomes, Paulo Antunes, Maria Alves, as well as three grandchildren, Ethan, Adryanna, and Andru, a great grandchild, Soul, several godchildren including Maria Filipa, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was a communicant of St. Edith Stein Church & will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Monday February 13th from 4-8 pm. Services in the Funeral Home Tuesday Morning February 14th at 9 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church, 71 E Main Street Brockton at 10 am. Burial to follow in Melrose Cemetery, 88 N Pearl Street Brockton.
