Fernanda G. Cortez (85) of Brockton died February 25th in the Brockton Hospital. She was the widow of the late Luciano Cortez.
She was born in Praia, Santiago, Cabo Verde daughter of the late Avelino Gomes Fernandes and Adelina Barros Fernandes. She was a stitcher for the Church Hill Linen Company and a communicant of St. Edith Stein Parish.
Survivors include a son Antonio Cortez of Brockton, 2 daughters, Giselle Cortez of Brockton and Maria Jesus Cortez of the Netherlands, 2 stepsons, Allain Cortez of Quincy and Eucides Cortez of Brockton, 3 stepdaughters, Eunice Moumade of New Bedford, Magda Cavacco of Brockton and Euridice Mundy of California, 5 grand and 3 great grandchildren.
Services from the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel 238 Court Street Brockton Saturday March 2nd at 9 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church 71 E Main Street Brockton at 10 am. Burial will follow in the Family Lot in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation in the Funeral Home Friday March 1st from 5-8 pm.
