Alvaro Gomes (87) of Brockton died June 9th in the Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Maria (Jesuina) Gomes.
He was born in Mosteiros, Fogo, Cabo Verde. Alvaro worked as a dispatcher for TACV Airlines also was a communicant of St. Edith Stein Church. He enjoyed watching soccer especially his favorite team "Benefica", playing cards and banco orin.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 8 sons, Alvaro, Pedro, Mario S., Fernando Gomes all of Brockton, Alex Gomes of England, Andre Gomes of Boston and Venancio and Mario Gomes both of Cabo Verde, 5 daughters, Isabel, Filipa, Guerebaldina, Eunice and Virginia Gomes all of Brockton, also Isabel Gomes of Taunton, 1 brother Livio Gomes of Brockton, many grand and great grandchildren.
Services from the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel 238 Court Street Brockton Wednesday June 14th at 9 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 10 am. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday June 13th from 5-9 pm.
