Karen L. Machado, 54, of Westport died Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Boston Medical Center. Born in Fall River, daughter of Adeline C. (Perreira) Machado of Westport and the late Joseph A. Machado, she was a lifelong resident of Westport. A 1978 graduate of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, she was a kindergarten teacher at Acushnet Elementary School and had previously worked as an administrative assistant for the municipal department at Bay Bank Southeast for several years. Karen loved to dance and was involved with Country Line and West Coast Swing Dancing for several years.
Including her mother, survivors include an aunt: Mary Matos of NJ; and several cousins.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the Potter Funeral Home at 7:00 P.M.
Calling hours will be from 4 – 7 P.M. prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
