BEVERLY: Patricia A. (Murray) Mercier, 82, formerly of Pine Road, died Sunday morning, July 12, 2009 in the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Olof L. Mercier who died in 1991. They shared forty-three years of marriage.
Born in Madison, Maine on January 8, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John and Emma (Judkins) Murray. She was a graduate of Madison High School and attended the University of Maine. She had resided in Gardiner, Maine for many years before moving to Beverly in 1965.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jane P. and James Powers of Merrimack, NH, four sons and daughters-in-law, John A. and Barbara Mercier of Concord, NH, William M. and Laurie Mercier of Sandy Point, ME, Thomas O. and Caroline Mercier of Beverly and Michael R. and Theresa Mercier of Kittery, ME, thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by three brothers.
Her funeral services will be held on Wednesday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly at 9:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Beverly Senior Center, 90 Colon St., Beverly, MA 01915. Interment will be privately held in Madison, Maine.
