William J. Coomey, 65, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Worcester, died on Thursday, April 4th at home. He leaves two brothers, Kevin Coomey of Springfield and Daniel Coomey and his wife, Sheila of Shrewsbury; three sisters, Judith Mulrooney of Somerset, Mary Cassanelli and her husband, Maurice of Mashpee, and Margaret Halvorsen and her husband, Michael of North Brookfield; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Coomey in 2018 and a nephew, Patrick Halvorsen in 2021.
He was born in Worcester the son of the late William L. and Julia (Duffy) Coomey. William had various careers, his most recent being in maintenance at the local airport in Oklahoma for fifteen years. He enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends and was a member of Christ the King Parish.
His graveside service will be on Saturday, May 11th at 11:00am in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street. There are no calling hours. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is assisting the family with arrangements.
