Obituary

Maurice A. Ouellet, 85, of Londonderry, NH, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in the Hanover Hill Healthcare Center, Manchester, NH. "Moe", as he was known to his family and friends, was born on August 21, 1938, in Manchester, the third of eight children, of the late Victor and Sadie (Fraser) Ouellet. Moe had been a resident of Londonderry for over 60 years having previously resided in Manchester. He was also a communicant of St. Jude Parish in Londonderry.

Moe earned a Bachelor's Degree from Saint Anselm College and Masters Degrees from Rivier College and the University of New Hampshire Moe spent the first five years of his teaching career in Epping before being hired to teach chemistry at Manchester Central High School. Moe retired from the Manchester School District in 1997 after having taught there for over 30 years. Following his retirement from full time teaching Moe worked at both Bee Bee Shoe and as a substitute teacher for the Londonderry School District.

Upon his retirement from all employment, Moe spent many years tending to his garden and maintaining the landscaping for his home and the homes of his daughters. Moe (a.k.a Grandpa) also loved taking care of his grandsons during their summer school vacations.

Moe is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Rock) Ouellet of Londonderry; two daughters, Marianne Ouellet of Londonderry, and Denise Ouellet of Vernon, CT; one son, Paul Ouellet of Londonderry; two grandsons, Adam Weinstein of Vernon, CT and Eric Weinstein of Somerville, MA; two brothers and their wives, Philibert and Faye Ouellet of Mechanicsburg, PA, Richard and Nancy Ouellet of Manchester, NH; three sisters, Marjorie Paquet of Manchester, NH, Claudette Moher of West Lebanon, NH, and Diane Hillner and her husband, Larry, both of Manchester, NH; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Moe was predeceased by his siblings Pauline Enright and Ronald Ouellet as well as his son-in-law, Paul Weinstein.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 3rd from 5 -7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 4th at 10:00am at St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. The burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, 448 Donald Street, Bedford, NH. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Sonshine Soup Kitchen, 6 Crystal Ave., Derry, NH 03038.
