Obituary

Dennis Arthur Biele, 68, of Alexandria died peacefully surrounded by family and friends on April 23, 2024.

Dennis was a Christian. He was a great family man and friend. Dennis was a remarkable individual defined by his unwavering dedication to those he loved. He was an avid bird watcher, a devout Cubs fan, and a hobby fisherman. He mostly loved spending time with family and friends.

Dennis was more than his hobbies and interests. He was a man of compassion, humor, and sweetness. He was an accomplished nurse. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Anderson University in 1995. Prior to his nursing career he graduated from seminary. He served as a youth pastor in Tennessee and as a chaplain in the Air Force Reserves.

Dennis spent his entire nursing career at Community Hospital Anderson. He made a lifelong impact on the lives of countless patients. He was a natural caregiver. He was known for going above and beyond. Dennis had a passion for education and empowering patients. It was not unheard of for him to give patients rides, buy and deliver groceries, or go visit them at home. His generous spirit was felt by anyone he met.

Dennis’ kindness, warmth, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Biele; daughter, Rachel (Grant) Slagle; two stepsons, Willie (Jenny) Ray and Levi (Tara) Albea; grandchildren, Hylah, Howie, and Ruby Albea; unofficial first grandchild, Amy Mack; his good friend, Ken Snyder; and many other extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Florence Biele and his brother, Robert Biele.

Memorial service will be at 5:00pm on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Dr. Kerry Robinson officiating. A nurse’s honor guard will begin the service.

Visitation will be from 3:00pm-5:00pm on Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Healthy Hearts Clinic at Community Hospital Anderson.
