Obituary

Egidio Ferrara, 77 years old, of Wrentham, passed away on April 19th, 2024 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Milton, Massachusetts. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

Born March 1st, 1947 in Orsara di Puglia, Italy, to the late Rosa Russo and Michele Ferrara. Egidio and his family immigrated to the United States in February of 1966. Soon after, Egidio proudly served in the US Army from 1967 to 1969. During his service he fought in The Vietnam War.

When Egidio returned from his service he wanted to pursue higher education. Through hard work, he graduated from Northeastern University in 1979 with his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. To help get himself through college, Egidio took a course to become a professional tax preparer, which led to the creation of EF Tax Consultants. Egidio then went on to graduate from Lesley College in 1994 with his Master's Degree in Business. Soon after he started his own insurance agency, Ferrara Insurance, with the original office in Norfolk, MA and later opened a second location in Waltham MA, where the office has been for 22 years.

Egidio is survived by his loving family, including his wife Donna (Arsenault) of Wrentham, MA, his daughter Victoria Manley and her husband Michael of Raymond, NH, his two sons, Michael Ferrara of McKinney, TX, and Adam Ferrara with longtime girlfriend, Alexandra Hughes both of Wrentham, MA. Egidio, fondly known as Nonno, doted on his three grandchildren, Maegan, Michael, and Maddox of Raymond, NH. His grandchildren loved spending time with their Nonno and will truly miss him.

He also leaves behind his aunt, Incoranata Russo and her husband Michele Tramonte of Orsara di Puglia, Italy, his brother, Dalmazio Ferrara of Waltham, MA, and is predeceased by his sister, Irma Mastropieri of Newton, MA. He is also survived by several cousins from the Waltham area as well as in Italy.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 from 10:30am - 12:30pm in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin MA, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church 130 South Street Wrentham, MA, at 1PM.
