Dr. Alfred J. Bliss, III, 67, of Worcester, formerly of Hopedale, died on Tuesday, April 2nd in Massachusetts General Hospital. He leaves his three siblings, Ellen Kenny of Hopedale, David Bliss of Norwood, and Colleen Leporati and her husband, Joel of Hopedale; three nieces, Brianna and Meghan Leporati, and Mikayla Kenny; two nephews, Stephen Bliss and Kyle Leporati; and his longtime companion, Erill Smith.
He was born in Hopedale, the son of the late Alfred J. Bliss, Jr. and Mary (Brien) Bliss. Alfred was an optometrist of 40 years in the Worcester area. He enjoyed cooking, trying various foods, reading, and traveling. His favorite vacations were to Ogunquit, Maine with friends and family.
A private service for family and friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alfred’s name to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215 or to St. Joseph’s Church, P.O.
