Obituary

Lauren Rose ‘Laus’ (Thomas) Gray, 77 of Tewksbury, formerly of Braintree rejoins her husband in heaven after a peaceful passing at her home on Monday, April 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Joseph Robert Gray, who passed away in 2009.

She was born in Boston on August 4, 1946 and was a daughter of the late Lawrence Thomas and the late Gladys (Cartner) Thomas; and sister of Beverly. She was raised in Somerville, where she attended St. Joseph’s School.

Lauren's devotion to her faith was unwavering and was an active member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Weymouth. She served as a Eucharistic Minister, imparted her knowledge as a CCD teacher, contributed her time to Bible Camp activities, ran senior activities, and was in charge of the prayer warriors. Her commitment to her church community and her deep faith were central aspects of her life. Everyone knew her and loved her at the parish. She was a face that you would always see at church and the first person to help everyone!

Lauren's love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life. She took great pride in her husband and their family's service to the country, embodying a deep sense of patriotism. Her cherished moments were often spent with her grandchildren, bringing her immense joy and fulfillment in her later years.

She is survived by her children, Deborah Gray of Braintree, Lawrence Gray and his wife, Lisa of Tewksbury and Carlton Buscemi of Arizona; five grandchildren, Shawn Gray of Texas, Amanda Jackson of Texas, Robert, Colleen, and Owen Cuddyer all of Braintree; and her adored four great grandchildren, Zoey, Harlyn, Ariana, Reece.

She also leaves behind her best friends for many years, Darlene and Paul Phelan; her brothers and sisters in law, Frank and Janet Gray, Michael Gray, Phil Gray, Pat Gray; and many nieces and nephews.

Lauren was predeceased by her brother in law, Richard Gray and her sister in law Ellen Gray.

On Thursday, April 18, 2024 all are welcome to attend her calling hours from 4-8 p.m. at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, 978-851-2061.

On Friday morning, her funeral mass will be offered at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, 72 Washington Street, Weymouth, MA. Please meet directly at church.

On Wednesday, April 24, at 12:30 p.m. burial with her husband will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery at Bourne on Connery Ave., Bourne, MA. Please meet directly at the cemetery.
