Obituary

Lisa Marie (Rich) Carriere, 62, of Burlington, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on April 9th with her children by her side following a brief battle with cancer.

Lisa was born on June 11th, 1961, a daughter of the late Russell and Barbara (Dingle) Rich. Raised in Tewksbury, Lisa attended Heath Brook Elementary School, Tewksbury Junior High, and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1979. During high school, she was a majorette, becoming co-captain her senior year. She briefly attended Suffolk University before entering the workforce. Lisa worked for various organizations throughout her career, though she spent the last 15+ years working for NuPath, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals living with disabilities.

Lisa was always at her happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She loved spending time with her children and spent the last several years of her life enamored with her grandson Noah Ryan. Without hesitation, Lisa was always quick to make sacrifices for those she loved when the circumstances necessitated, and she maintained an infectious dedication to helping others throughout her life. Equally infectious was her laughter and her ability to light up any room – especially when handed a microphone at a local karaoke night. Beyond her love for others and for music, Lisa had a profound appreciation for the ocean, and she spent some of her favorite moments with her feet in the sand at Hampton Beach.

Lisa was predeceased by both of her parents as well as by her husband Donald Armstrong. She is survived by her adult children, Jenna Carriere and Jamie Armstrong of Lowell, Massachusetts; beloved grandson Noah Ryan; one brother, Russell Rich Jr. of Ocala, FL; and two sisters, Debra Rich of Waterville, ME and Jody Rich and her wife Rosemary Winslow of Waterville, ME. Lisa will forever be remembered and missed by nieces and nephews David Aaron, Naomi, Elizabeth, Elise, Suzanne, Jennifer, and Amanda. Lisa also leaves behind many other cherished family members, friends, clients, and colleagues.

A celebration of Lisa’s life will be held in the coming months and details will be shared once confirmed. In lieu of flowers, please consider following in Lisa’s footsteps by becoming a shared living provider.
