Judith A. Walsh

TEWKSBURY: Judith A. (Sutton) Walsh, age 83, a longtime resident of Tewksbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the Blaire House of Tewksbury.

She was the beloved wife of 62 years to John J. Walsh, who passed away on December 28, 2022.

Born in Boston on February 12, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Francis J. and Mary A. (Callaghan) Sutton.

Judy was raised in the Allston section of Boston, where she attended local schools and was a proud member of St. Anthony’s Church C.Y.O. Drill Team.

In 1972, she and her late husband moved to Tewksbury, where they raised their six sons.

Judy was the consummate “Sports Mom” and treasured the many hours she spent watching her sons and grandchildren participate in their numerous sporting events.

She was a longtime communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish in Andover.

Judy was employed as an administrative assistant at the Digital Equipment Corporation for many years and then as an administrative director by the Griffin Greenhouse Supply Company in Tewksbury, where she worked until her retirement.

She is survived by her six sons, John Walsh Jr. and his wife Lisa, of Lowell, Daniel Walsh and his wife Dorna, of Salisbury, Mark Walsh and his wife Deanna, of Tewksbury, Paul Walsh and his wife Jennifer, of West Newbury, Thomas Walsh, of Las Vegas, NV, and Gary Walsh, of Lowell. She also leaves eleven grandchildren, Shelagh Gallagher (Husband Shane), Michael Walsh (Wife Lauren), Nicholas Walsh, Lauren Landry (Husband Dan), Brian Walsh, Timothy Walsh (Wife Meghan) Shannon Fitzgerald (Husband Martin), Kelsey Polcari (Husband Joseph “JJ”) Colin Walsh (Wife Krystin), Ty Walsh and Brin Walsh; nine great grandchildren, Lane, Brody, Lyla, Eryn, Reagan, Charlie, Colton, Kennedy, and Jack: several nieces and nephews. Judy was the half-sister of Virginia Champlin, Janet Smith, Mathias, Joseph, James, and Donald Sutton.
The family would also like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Blaire House and New England Hospice who cared for Judy with care and compassion.

Calling hours are Tuesday, April 16th, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, followed by the funeral procession to St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 198 Haggetts Pond Road, Andover, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Services will conclude with interment at Tewksbury Cemetery.
