CHICOPEE – Janine C. “Gigi” (Beaulieu) Rider, 70, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, April 7, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on January 22, 1954, a beloved daughter of the late Robert L. and Doris M. (Davignon) Beaulieu. She was raised in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, graduated from the former Precious Blood High School in Holyoke and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. She was employed for many years as a sales representative for Verizon in Springfield. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. During her leisure time, Janine was an avid Bingo player at many of the local bingo games including Friday’s at Saint Stanislaus School in Chicopee. She also enjoyed cooking, shopping and traveling. She loved going on new adventures and especially loved her feline companions, Tanner and Rocket. Most of all, she loved her family and her many friends. She leaves her loving and devoted companion of 43 years, David W. Shannon of Chicopee; her loving son, Edward A. Rider Jr. of Michigan; her two cherished grandsons, Aron Rider and Jonathan Rider; her seven loving siblings, Leonard R. Beaulieu and his wife, Debbie, of Florida, Dolores M. DuBois and her husband, Joseph, of Wilbraham, Claudette L. Desmarais and her husband, Kenneth, of Wilbraham, Constance C. Karcz and her husband, Charles, of Chicopee, Robert A. Beaulieu and his wife, Tammy, of Monson, Rita G. Motyka and her husband, Anthony, of Ludlow, and Yvette A. Devoto and her partner, Lou, of Belchertown; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday morning, April 17, 2024 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Saint Patrick Cemetery, 168 Fuller Road, Chicopee Falls, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
